The COD vessel holding frames, for either six or twelve vessels, enable the entire set of samples, including blanks and QC standard, to be inserted and removed from the heating block in one motion. They are made of corrosion resistant stainless steel and are therefore relatively resistant to attack by acid. The holding frame has circular openings of 41 mm diameter, into which the sample vessels are inserted. The sample vessels are prevented from falling through the holes by the PVDF collars, which support the vessels in the frame. The two-tiered structure of the holder frame insures that the sample vessels cannot tip over. The positioning and dimensions of the vessel holes in the holding frame is exactly the same as that in the heating block. Thus holding frame is used to exactly position the vessels for lowering into the heating block cavities. The holding frame is likewise used to position the vessels properly over the six or twelve sample magnetic stirrer. The design is so conceived that the sample vessels are loaded into the holding frame of the behr COD system and remain in the frame throughout the steps of reagent addition, heating and automatic titration, in the case of the DT-10 automated COD analyzer.
COD Vessel Transport StandThe COD vessel transport stand is used to support the vessel holding frame on the laboratory bench and provides a convenient way to carry the vessel holding frame with vessels from one place to another. The same vessel support stand can be used with different vessel support frames by repositioning the carrying handles.
